Well, there's a milestone. Tracy has returned to work for two days a week - consecutive - and guess who's minding the boys on Mondays and Tuesdays? Sure, I can write when they're asleep.

We used to have dogs. Feeding small children (William is two years and nine months; Thomas is one year and five months) is rather more difficult. And you can't do it outside in inclement weather.

I always wanted a kitchen that you could hose out; a kind of medieval flagstoned affair. That would help. Where's the broom?

  1. You could buy an old fashioned pub, everything was hoseable in them, though funnily the smell always remained. Write when the boys are asleep? Good luck with that.

  2. I agree with Neil - good luck if you get any writing time!!! I am working from home for 2 days a week & the granparents alternate in babysitting while i lock myself in my study - all up still much nicer than going to the office!

  3. Those old pubs, Neil: I used to visit one with my Dad when I was about four and wonder why the bar was ten feet tall.

Ange, can I borrow the grandparents?
