Now you're getting picky....like me
ReplyDeleteI try not to be picky, WD, but that one jumped off the page and hit me between the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI could not resist a further comment KH...My first ever post was a farewell to the local paper which we had read for over 30 years....it became too much for us with it's incorrect grammar, bad spelling, poor editing, mismatched captions etc. As a further insult they removed the Stockmarket Report. It was almost too much.....then they put the price up ! Enuff, enuff, I sed and cancelled the subscription!
ReplyDeleteThen they blame falling circulation for putting off proofreaders and literate writers ...
ReplyDeleteIt's me again....put a possessive case in the last comments where I should not have. Thought you would have picked it up and hit me over the head with it...shows you are a really a sweetie
ReplyDeleteAnd still I get it wrong...it NEEDS to be the possessive case and it's not....now, is that right? I'm tired and confused....I'm going to bed!
ReplyDeleteWD, I would never be so rude as to even mention a commenter's error in passing let alone upbraid him or her. I reserve that for paid newspaper subeditors!
ReplyDeleteAnd that apostrophe causes more angst than most other grammar issues. The longer you look at it the more perplexing it becomes. It starts dancing in and out of the three letters 'its' until you go nuts.
